Bedbugs Control
Bedbugs are blood-feeding insects commonly found in resting areas such as sofas, beds, and upholstered furniture. In severe infestations, they may also hide in wall cracks and electrical outlets.
These pests rely on blood to complete their life cycle. A bedbug nymph requires a blood meal to shed its skin, while adult bedbugs feed to reproduce. Bedbugs typically feed in groups, leaving clusters of bite marks on exposed areas such as arms, backs, and feet. Reactions to bedbug bites vary. Some individuals with hypersensitivity may require antihistamine injections to alleviate itching caused by the bites.
Bedbugs are nocturnal and are drawn to body heat and carbon dioxide when feeding. When someone sleeps on an infested mattress, the warmth and exhaled air attract bedbugs to feed.
Bedbugs can also travel with humans, hitchhiking from one location to another. They often hide in luggage or clothing, spreading to new environments where they breed and establish new infestations.
Cimex hemipterus, a tropical bedbug species, is prevalent in Malaysia. A single female bedbug can lay up to 150 eggs in her lifetime. Each bedbug requires consistent blood meals to complete its life cycle, which spans 7–15 days.

Methods of Bedbugs Control

Residual Spray Treatment (Ochre’s Action)
After inspection, a residual spray will be applied to areas where bedbugs typically hide. This method kills adult bedbugs and nymphs while acting as a preventive measure to eliminate newly hatched nymphs twice post-treatment. Multiple treatments may be necessary for effective control in a specific room. After each treatment, allow the chemicals to dry for several hours. Then, vacuum thoroughly to dispose of the bedbugs.

Physical Removal (Customer’s Action)
Vacuuming can effectively remove adult bedbugs and their eggs from bed frames, headboards, carpet edges, and wall cracks. We recommend using a vacuum with a fine filter for optimal results. Note that without the use of chemicals, vacuumed bedbugs may remain alive. Therefore, carefully seal the vacuum bag in a tightly closed plastic bag before disposal.

Sealing Cracks and Maintaining Hygiene (Customer’s Action)
- Change your bed sheets regularly. This reduces the chances of bedbugs breeding on your bed.
Frequent cleaning also helps detect early signs of infestation.
- After traveling, consider sending your clothes for dry cleaning to eliminate bedbugs or their eggs that
may have been picked up during your trip.
- Seal cracks in walls and furniture to prevent bedbugs from nesting in hidden spaces.

Addressing Bedbug Infestations (Customer’s Action)
- Contact professional pest control services if you suspect an infestation at home. Our team will
schedule an inspection and provide appropriate treatment immediately upon receiving your call.
- Report incidents of bites in public spaces like hotels, movie theaters, or public transport to the relevant
staff. Prompt action can help prevent the spread of bedbugs and protect others from being affected.
